September Meeting at Bellevue University

Well, we have some new digs for this month — and possibly long-term. Alex Meyers, professor in charge of the game design program at Bellevue University, has secured us a nice meeting room on their campus. (Map below.) We will once again have a big screen for doing demos and Skype guests, good wireless internet, and lots of room to spread out.

We realize that this might be a bit more out of the way for some folks — but we had the same problem when we were at CAMP downtown or Scooter’s out west. For those that are wary or weary of the drive, I would encourage looking into carpooling with other OGDA members. Especially those of you in Lincoln… get together!

The meeting is Saturday the 15th at 6. For those that are curious, conflicted, or simply driving up from Lincoln, the Husker game is at 11 that day.

I’m still trying to get a confirmation regarding our potential Skype guest for this month. (He has been traveling this week.)

Whether he joins us or not, it would be great to have a little “show and tell” of people’s recent work. I know some of you were interested in showing off what you did for the recent Ludum Dare. Also, there a lot of people who would like to see more of Blockmonster from KillSmile and Drugbound (formerly Drugrunner?) from Slouch Couch. Anyone else have something to show off?

Here’s the map to Bellevue University. Note that the meeting will be in the big glass building on the top of the hill. Enter the big parking lot on the top of the hill from Harvell Dr. — not from Galvin road. There will be a security guard just inside, but they will know about our meeting. You will get directions to our room from there.

Wait.. is this six-in-the-AM, or six in the afternoon? One makes me fear your early up/never sleep abilities, and the other conflicts with Oktoberfest. Ha!

Oh yeah… game developers are at their best at 6AM… Sheesh…
